Bodies Exhibit
A Niagara Falls Exhibition of Real Human Bodies

One of the Displays at Bodies The Exhibition

Take it as you will, the Bodies Exhibit known as “Bodies The Exhibition” in Niagara Falls, is an extension of the ever popular shows put on throughout the world.

These shows, which makes headlines every time they open in a new location, are in a category of their own. The displays could be put into many categories including educational, scientific, artistic and even exhilarating.

The reason for all this attention is due to the fact that the specimens used in the displays are real human bodies. All of which have been dissected, layered, halved or quartered and then finally positioned in one way or another for display.

As this may sound disturbing to some, the purpose of the show is to allow people a look into how the body is constructed and how it works. The use of real bodies for this gives everyone an authentic look at the human body that up until now was only reserved to medical students.

The displays show everything from muscles to bones and everything in between and im many cases, specific parts have been removed from sections of the body to get a better look at what exactly is going on.

The technology that allows the bodies to be preserved and displayed in this fashion is called “Plastination” and involves infusing every cell in the body with a silicon based rubber.

The displays at the Niagara Falls Bodies Exhibit are designed to show the human body in various sports positions like running and jumping but does have several other displays showing other common health concerns like a smokers lungs.

If the idea of seeing real human bodies on display doesn’t give you the creeps but instead sparks an interest in how our bodies really work, this show may be a great one to see while its on.
