A unique winery has recently opened its doors in Niagara....Well virtually opened its doors that is.Daredevil Wines, the brainchild of an Estate Sommelier and a Niagara winemaker is an online winery of sorts where as of late 2009, you could begin ordering their inaugural vintage.
Their first “stunt” is a 2007 Cabernet aged 18 months in mostly French Oak barrels, and then bottle aged from August of 2009 until the release date of November 23, 2009.
That first production is sold in six packs at a price of $36.00 a bottle. It’s a fairly small production and as their premier offering, may not stay in stock for long.
As Niagara Falls itself is famous for its deep history with daredevils going over the falls in barrels or tight roping thin cables across the Niagara Gorge, we just had to mention a company that is taking the spirit of what these risk takers were attempting to accomplish and capture it in a bottle of great wine.
Daredevil-Wines is hoping to gain popularity in Niagara and even the wine world with their daring and not necessarily conventional style of wines.
If Daredevil Wines has peeked your interest and you would like more information or maybe even order some wine you can…
