Santa's Village Illumination

When: December 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010
Where: Downtown Niagara Falls - Queen Street

With roots planted firmly in the heart of the early 20th century mercantile district of Niagara Falls, but a vision for the 21st century that is hip, fresh, chic and savvy, historic Queen Street is experiencing a true renaissance.

Riding a growing wave of downtown core revitalization programs taking route across North America, today’s Queen Street is home to funky building facades, outdoor patios, fabulous shops, great eateries and manicured parks and green spaces – all designed to make the district a perfect place for a stroll.

But, during the CAA Winter Festival of Lights, Queen Street undergoes a different kind of transformation from modern bustling streetscape to Santa’s Village – a brightly lit holiday-themed promenade that extends the Festival’s incredible illuminations from the Niagara Parkway and into the downtown area in one seamless arc.

Illuminated archways straddle the street, storefronts glow with lighting displays and those huge front windows that were so important as marketing tools for early 20th century businesses will come alive with magnificent displays.
