What's Going on in Niagara Falls during the month of August 2012
August marks the mid point of the busy summer season in Niagara Falls and that means there is still plenty of time to pack in as much attractions, sights, shows and more into your time here.
This month you will find some exciting things like the Canadian Civic Holiday long weekend, some war of 1812 re-enactments along with other fun things to do and see.
Bicentennial Fife and Drum Muster and Soldier's Field Day
When: August 18 & 19, 2012. Where: Fort George (51 Queens Parade, Niagara on the Lake).
10am - 5pm
Cost: Adults $11.70, Seniors $10.05, Family $29.40.
Come celebrate the bicentennial at Fort george. This weekend long event is a pageant of military music by Fife and Drum corps from the United States and Canada as well as a competition of 1812 drill teams from Fort George, Fort Malden, Fort York, and Fort Erie - a collection of the premier 1812 military sites in Ontario. During this 14th year of the muster the 41st Regiment Fife and Drum corps will also be celebrating their 25th anniversary at Fort George. Come and experience the sights and sounds of the military garrison during the bicetennial of the War of 1812.

Pedal 100 for Heart & Stroke Foundation
When: Sunday, August 19th, 2012 Where: Henley Island, Port Dalhouise, St. Catharines.
7am to 7pm Cost: $40.00
Join your friends Sunday August 19th for a wonderful ride through the beautiful wine region of Niagara at the Pedal 100 for Heart & Stroke Foundation. There are a variety of routes from 60 KM to 160 KM - all surrounded by award-winning wineries, country roads and fields of beautiful flowers! The event will start & finish at Henley Island in Port Dalhousie, St.Catharines. All routes are fully supported & a wholesome meal will be provided after the ride. All proceeds go towards life saving research, let’s get pedaling for a worthy cause! Registration is $40.

All Breed Dog Show
When: August 17, 18, 19, 2012 Where: Fairgrounds Park, Beamsville, Ont
Cost: Free
A fun event for the whole family - Free Admission - 2 All-Breed Dog Show a day with international judges – Plus a Rare-Breed Dog Show on Saturday and Sunday – Junior Handling – Puppy Fun Match – Consignment Table (buy and sell gently used items) - Over a thousand dogs entered over the three day weekend – Lots of Vendors – Lots of Parking – Lots of Fun.
