Our review of this popular Niagara Falls Hotel

When a hotel boasts that every room has spectacular views of the famous Niagara River and Niagara Falls, you almost want to stop yourself from building up expectations just to have them deflated when you walk in to the room.

Well I can tell you that the hotel is not kidding when every view is a spectacular one!Let’s not jump ahead of ourselves though and start from the beginning.

The Fallsview Hotel is part of the Fallsview Casino Resort complex and rising to 35 stories in the sky, it is one of the newest additions to the city of Niagara Falls’ picturesque skyline.

Hydro Teslatron Located in the main foyer of the resorts mall and just steps away from the Hydro Teslatron, a four million dollar art piece, the hotels lobby fits in to the scenery of the shopping area and tries not to stand out to much and take away from the other attractions in the area.

Although there were several couples checking in at the time, their was also more than enough staff running the counter to quickly check us in.

Like many other higher end hotels, the Fallsview offers you several choices of bed sizes and the option of smoking or non-smoking rooms.

After being given out King and Queen playing card door keys, we were off to the 28’th floor to check out the room.

With 4 elevators waiting to take you to your floor, their was almost always one available any time we needed it.

View from a Fallsview Casino Hotel RoomWalking into our room, the first thing you see is the large window in the back that goes from wall to wall and almost ceiling to floor with nothing but a great view.

Even though we had arrived to the Fallsview hotel after dark, the view of the city lights was remarkable. You could see the lights form both Niagara Falls Canada and Niagara Falls USA. The Skylon Tower is close to the left and even with us being at 28 floors up still seemed to tower over the hotel.Just ahead to the right is the smaller US falls which looks beautiful all lit up with large spotlights showering it with a blue light.

Looking back to the room, it is larger than many I have visited. Ours had two queen sized beds, a small office table with two comfortable chairs and a entertainment unit with television that had cable and internet connection included. A small safe was a nice to have to store valuables while we were gone.

The bed in one of the rooms at the Fallsview Casino Hotel RoomThe closet automatically lit up when the door was opened and had enough room for several jackets and suits and came equipped with an iron and ironing board.

We were very impressed with the bathroom. There was separate bathtub and shower units with the shower being enclosed in glass. Plenty of towels to go around would mean that there was no worry of running out or having to use the same one several times.

After settling in for a while we decided to check out the in room dining menu to see what was offered.

There is a large book on the desk in the room that details everything you would ever need to know about what the hotel has to offer. Included is information on live shows, a list of stores in the mall and information about the luxurious spa and pool area located on the third floor.

Continuing on in the book we find that the Fallsview Casino Resort has many restaurants to choose from and a few of them are even included on the room service menu.

There were many items available like steak, lobster and even some exotic sea food selections. With all the options available to us it seemed we could end up in the room all night without ever needing to go out so we decided to travel away from the room for a while and get something to eat down in one of the restaurants.

Returning from a great meal we arrived back at the room just before nine pm. It was shortly after that we were pleasantly reminded that every Friday evening around nine the Niagara Parks Association puts on a fireworks display that is seen over the Niagara river roughly between both the water falls.

From our room the view was amazing because we were both right in front of the display and above it making it a fireworks show with a unique point of view. Watching fireworks explode at just below eye level with the American Falls lit up behind them is a great memory that will not soon be forgotten.

After the 10 minute display had ended the city quieted down again and we were off to enjoy some time exploring the resorts mall and try our luck on the casino floor.

After some hours of gaming fun we decided to call it a night returning to the room. Each room has its own very quiet heating and cooling system built in so that it is easy to set the temperature to exactly how you like it.

The beds are comfortable and the pillows were down filled which made it easy to get a good nights sleep.

Many hotels have a tendency to almost amplify all the sounds made in the hallways at night but The Fallsview hotel seemed very quiet that night and made for a restful night.

We were up early the next day to enjoy the view from our window a little more. Made a couple of drinks with the coffee and tea provided in the room and relaxed for a while before making our 11 am check out time.

You would think that a hotel with 35 floors of rooms would be a mad house in the lobby at 11 am with hordes of people checking out all at once but again the Fallsview Hotel seemed to be prepared with many employees working behind the desk to ensure everyone was dealt with in a timely manner and check out for us was took no longer than checking in.

Looking back at our trip to the Fallsview Hotel, it is very easy to say that everything went well and that the room was better than expected. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and in all I would gladly spend more time there.
