GO Transit Extends Train Route: Visitors From Toronto now have a new way to get to Niagara Falls!
Go Transit, Toronto’s train and bus service that operates throughout the GTA and surrounding areas has opted into a plan to extend their train service to include stops in St. Catharines and Niagara Falls.
This extended number of stops into the Niagara Region will run from June 27th until October 12th in 2009 and will include 4 trips each way, 8 in total, each day. The days in which the trains will run to the Honeymoon city are Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
The GO service to Niagara will depart from Union Station in Downtown Toronto and make stops at Port Credit, Oakville, Burlington and St. Catharines before ending in Niagara Falls. The entire trip will be about 2 hours and will make the same stops in both directions.
The GO train service is a great added bonus to any trip to Niagara Falls as visitors who have traveled to the Falls for vacations will be able to purchase group or family passes to Toronto that include overnight packages.
The new GO Service will also make it easier for visitors from Toronto to take in the sights and sounds of Niagara Falls by avoiding the traffic on the highway. The cost of a two way ticket to the Falls from Toronto is only $31.80
Add to that the fact that GO service allows riders to take their bicycles on board with them will mean that visitors to either city can take advantage of the many miles of bike paths available for use.
The Niagara Falls VIA station at 4267 Bridge Street will be the final destination for the Niagara bound GO service and the arrival and departure times are as follows:
