Maid of the Mist

Maid of the Mist Niagara Falls

A great photo of the Maid of the Mist passing the American Falls.

The Maid of the Mist, Niagara Falls is the perfect choice if your looking to get up close and personal with one of the largest waterfalls in the world. And we mean "Up Close"!

This popular boat tour attraction is sure to thrill the whole family. From the moment you board one of the large boats capable of carrying almost 600 people to the point where you get so close to the Falls that you are completely surrounded in its mist, the entire ride is sure to thrill.

As one of the most popular destinations for visitors today, the Maid of the Mist, Niagara Falls has been in operation in one way or another since as far back as 1834. Back then it was mainly used as a ferry to transport people across the river until the first international border bridge was constructed.

There is a lot of history connected to the Maid of the Mist, from a large fire in 1955 that destroyed the docks to several rescues that saved the lives of people trapped in the turbulent waters near the Falls.

The ships themselves take passengers from the boarding docks at the rivers edge not far from Clifton Hill and takes them close enough to the Horseshoe Falls that they are surrounded in the mist and can hear nothing except the thundering roar of the water as it falls and slams into the mighty Niagara River.

The Maid of the Mist operates from both the American and Canadian sides of the river and are open seasonally starting sometime in April and ending in October. Dates are dependent on weather and ice conditions of the River.

If you are wanting to take the Maid of the Mist Niagara tour during your visit, call ahead of your travel date to see if they are operating.

Prices:
Adults - $15.60 Canadian
Children (6-12 years) - $ 9.57 Canadian

Hours of Operation:
