New Years Eve in Niagara Falls

As being Canada’s most recognizable destination around the world, it is no surprise that Niagara Falls is also home of Canada’s largest New Years Eve bash.

Often compared to the party at Times Square in New York, the Niagara Falls New Years party attracts more than 30,000 people to the free concerts and fireworks displays at Queen Victoria Park located just steps away from the might falls themselves.

This outdoor, all ages event that is organized and run by the Niagara Parks Commission along with their partners includes concerts performed by popular bands and musicians, two huge fireworks displays, one at 9 pm and another at midnight and includes food and beverage kiosks and a licensed area for those who wish to partake in some adult beverages.

The New years event starts at 8 pm and goes at least until 1:00 am. For those who can’t make the event, the 2010 new year will be televised on the Global television network and hosted by Entertainment Tonight Canada.

New Years Eve is one of the City of Niagara Falls’ largest organized events and with over 30,000 people converging into Queen Victoria Park in one night the shops and attractions are a buzz with excitement as many visitors to the Falls take this opportunity to explore the city’s many wonders like Clifton Hill, Lundy’s Land and the Winter Festival of Lights to name just a few and Many of which are within walking distance of the park itself.

Of course, as a precaution with this many people being in one area, Niagara Parks security force and the Niagara Regional Police department are always there to ensure public safety.

As it is one of Niagara Falls busiest times of the year, hotels and inns are often booked far in advance. If you are planning to visit for the New years celebrations it is always a good idea to plan ahead and check availability a couple of months ahead of time.

Many hotels offer various winter rates or packages that include added features such as free passes to the SkyWheel , Butterfly Conservatory or the Journey Behind the Falls tour. Remember to check early as many people plan their Niagara Falls New Years stay months in advance.

Check out our Directory of Hotels or our Hot Promotions and Offers section to see if there are any deals that interest you.

If you happen to be traveling to Niagara Falls during New Years but are looking for some indoor entertainment, many of the restaurants and bars located throughout the city have parties planned. Check out our Restaurant or bar directory for site and phone information.

If bars aren’t your thing there is always either Casino Niagara or Fallsview Casino Resort that remains open 24 hours a day all year long for your gaming entertainment.
