Popular hotspots for travelers to Niagara are the various Niagara Falls Landmarks that are scattered throughout the Region. Some are very distinct and easy to find but many are a kin to finding a hidden treasure and can only be appreciated by those who take the time to find these hidden gems.
Some landmarks are all natural and have taken more than 10,000 years to form while others are man made but just as interesting to see.
We’re going to start with the most popular and easy to find landmarks and work our way through the list… A list that we will continue to grow with the help of visitors such as yourself adding their own unique discoveries while visiting Niagara Falls.
Niagara Falls Landmarks
Niagara Falls Ok, this one is obvious but we have to mention it because it is, of course the main reason most people visit the area. Although they aren’t the tallest or the widest waterfalls in the world, Niagara Falls is massive and does have the greatest volume of water pouring over the edge than just about any other waterfall anywhere in the world!
Niagara Gorge Carved out by the massive Falls and Niagara River, this natural wonder can be explored up close with personal or guided walking tours.
Skylon Tower Opened in 1965, this tower is more than 525 feet tall, but because of its location is actually more than 700 feet above the Falls and includes a rotating restaurant and exterior elevators for great views all the way up.
Floral Clock A favourite for tourists, this massive clock displays the accurate time while being beautifully landscaped with thousands upon thousands of flowers each year. Located next to the lilac gardens, the whole area is a bloom with colour every Spring.
Sir Adam Beck Power Station As the very first location in North America to begin Hydro electric power generation, Niagara Falls has several original buildings from that era including the Sir Adam beck station.
Brock Monument A tribute to one of Canada’s most famous contributors to the war of 1812, Major General Isaac Brock, who was shot and killed during the Battle at Queenston Heights. The battle was a turning point for the Canadians and therefore a monument was constructed where the battle took place.
