No matter what time of year you decide to travel to Niagara Falls there is most probably some kind of special event in one form or another taking place during that time.
Spring, Summer, Winter or Fall, it doesn’t really matter because there is something going on. Whether it be celebrating the current season and all that it involves or it’s inviting participants in local charities for a good cause, visitors can always plan trips that involve special events in Niagara Falls.
Below we have listed some of the events that take place throughout the year in Niagara Falls. We have included as much information as possible but many dates and venues for any particular special event can change year by year and therefore we will update them as the information becomes available.
February:
Family Day in Niagara Falls - In Ontario, Family Day is the most recent holiday added to the calendar and it falls on the same day as Presidents Day in the United States. That makes Family Day weekend a very popular time to travel to Niagara Falls for many people from both sides of the border. Bug-a-licious - While its still snowing outside you can experience a tropical Delicacy inside at the butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls.
After taking a tour and seeing all the beautiful butterflies you can stop by the Bug-a-licious exhibit and try some insect cuisine created by top chefs competing for the best recipe. Stair Climb for Cancer - For over 18 years residents of Niagara and visitors to the Falls have be pledging for donations and making the climb the stairs to the top of the
Skylon Tower

Niagara Falls Walk for MS - Every Spring in April, residents and visitors to Niagara Falls gather to pledge donations and walk to show their support in research and finding a cure for this disease.

May 8th - Mother's Day - Take Your Mother To Niagara Falls For Mothers Day!
- Live music, business vendors, wineries and great food are just some of the things that you will find at the Annual Springlicious Beer & Food Expo.

Rotary Ribfest and BBQ
- You don’t have to like ribs to go to Ribfest! The Rotary Ribest in Niagara Falls is a four day event for the entire family!

July 1 - Canada Day - Every year Niagara Falls celebrates Canada Day with a parade through the streets of Niagara Falls that makes it’s way to optimist Park where the celebrations continue. This event runs from 10 am to 4 pm.At night, many parks and neighbourhoods hold local fireworks displays including the big one over the mighty Niagara Falls… All free!
November
Last Week of November - Santa Claus Parade- Near the end of every November people gather along the streets of Niagara Falls and wait for the magical moment when they will get to see the most famous person in the world...Santa Claus! Exact route details will be announced closer to the parade date.
Early November to Early January -Winter Festival of Lights
Niagara Falls becomes a winter wonderland from November to January when many large and small light displays are lit up and displayed along the parkway and in the parks throughout the city.
December
December 11th -Candlelight Stroll Downtown Niagara Falls
You can walk through Santa’s Village on Queen Street anytime in the month of December but mark you calendar for the Santa’s Village Candlelight Stroll on Saturday, December 11th between 6:30pm-8:30pm. You’ll experience a celebration of Christmas traditions past and present.
December 31st -New Years Eve In Niagara Falls
Join the city every December 31st in a live outdoor concert near the thundering falls including world renowned bands and a large fireworks display.
